Update for Aug 19 and 20

After being out of town for a couple of weeks I got back up to the Santa Cruz Mountains today. One week in Texas, where the weather was miserably hot, makes you really appreciate the Peninsula. I only got out for about three hours today. Check the photo store link to the right to see the shots I took. I plan to be back up there tomorrow beginning around 10 a.m., probably on Woodside east of Skyline, but if lighting permits, La Honda Road or Skyline Boulevard south of the Four Corners.

Update for Aug. 12-13

No shooting this weekend. Too much to do to get ready to hit the road for work next week. I'll have a new lens by Aug. 19-20 I'm eager to try out so I'll probably be on Woodside Road Sat. and Sun. The lens is a Nikon zoom that stabilizes the image similar to what comes on video cameras. It should give me sharper pictures.

Check back on Fri. and I'll have an update.

Update for Aug 6, 2006

I didn't get up to the Skyline this weekend. Too many things going on. Next weekend may be the same, but I'm planning on spending some time shooting some photos either Sat or Sun. Check back for my schedule late Friday.

Haulin' Honda on Skyline

To make them easy to download, these blog versions are low-res. The actual photo is hi-res jpeg, which you can order from the store.
Something happened, or rather it didn't. The $100,000 Poker Run that was to come down Skyline didn't materialize, either because the event was cancelled or there was a last-minute route change. There were still lots of riders out.

Here are some highlights. Check out the store button to the right for more photos. If you see a friend's picture, please let them know.

I may be shooting on Sunday but it's iffy because I'm working the San Francisco Marathon. If I get up to the Skyline, I'll most likely be on Woodside Road east of the Four Corners.

Shooting Schedule for July 29 and 30

Next Saturday, July 29, the $100,000 Poker Run Tournament run will be coming up La Honda Road for a stop at Alice's and then south on Skyline down to Boulder Creek. The tournament starts at 9 a.m. at Cameron's Inn, the great little English pub at 1410 Cabrillo Hwy S., Half Moon Bay. Go to http://www.americaneagleevents.com. I'll be taking pictures of bikers participating in this event riding south of Alice's on Skyline. The first group should arrive at that point about 10:15 to 10:30 a.m. If you or a friend are going on this ride, or you just happen to be passing through the area, I'll do my best to catch everyone riding South at least. Check SkooterShooter.com on Monday, July 31, and I should have the pictures up; maybe even Sunday if I get ambitious.

I'm not sure of my schedule on Sunday, as I'm working at the San Francisco Marathon in the morning. I'll post later if I plan to do some shooting on that day. If I do, it will probably be east of Skyline on Woodside Road.

Tired of the same old T-Shirts and mugs?

You've got plenty of photos of you posing with your bike. But what about one that catches you in action riding that favorite skooter? You've also got plenty of T-shirts that look just like everybody else's T-shirt. Been there, done that. How about one with you, your scoot and maybe the significant other having the time of your lives? What about your mug on a mug? Check out this merchandise available through the SkooterShooter.com store. Look for your photos by clicking on the store button on the right. For more info on these and other photo products go to the SkooterShooter.com Products Page.

Update for July 23, 2006

Saturday was a big day for scooter riders on the Peninsula. I'm talking about real scooters, not the affectionate term bikers use for any motorized two-wheeled vehicle. The Scoot 2 the Moon VII rally was held down at Cameron's Pub in Half Moon Bay. Sponsored by the Moving Targets and the Underground scooter clubs, scoots from San Francisco and the Peninsula rendezvoused in front of Alice's Restaurant before heading down to Cameron's where they gamed and partied in the cool air while the rest of the state cooked in 100 plus heat. These people were playing the scooter lifestyle to the hilt and having a hell of a lot of fun. Moving Targets is a great name. But my favorite scooter club name: Heck's Angels. I think they hail from Chi-town.

I'm sending up Saturday's motorcycle shots taken on Woodside Road to my store tonight. Check out some of the highlights below and visit the store by clicking the link to the right.

I didn't shoot on Sunday. My bike and I were commandeered by my wife, who insisted on getting out of the oven to go to the chilly water of the Pacific near Pescadero so she wouldn't roast. I apologize if you were expecting me to get a shot of your bike. This was an unforseen emergency.
