Update for March 31, 2007

I've posted more than 200 photos I took Saturday on the CA 9 (Big Basin Way) hairpins east of Skyline Blvd. This location was suggested to me by one of the blog viewers. Turns out it was an excellent choice. Check out the photos for sale by clicking the link to the right. See some highlights below. I'll be shooting more at this location in the coming weeks. Check back to see my schedule. I'm going to try to set the schedule earlier in the week to give people a chance to plan. Sorry it's not a regular basis, but I'm doing this part time for now. If you have a group run planned, let me know the date, time and route and I will plan on being on the road to take photos.

Back on the Skyline

Well, I've taken a few weeks off, but got back to Skyline Boulevard this weekend. The great weather has brought out the bikes. I'll post more pictures after this weekend, but I've posted a few here. I'll have all of my photos from the shoots this weekend on the Photoreflect site. Click the link on the right to go to the store where you can buy hi-res photos and other photo merchandise. Check to see if I got your photo. I've found a new place on CA 9 east of Skyline where there are a couple of hairpin turns with good light.

Nominate your favorite bikes for the Motorcycle Bloggers International's Riders Choice Awards

Riders Choice Awards - nominations are now open

Are you tired of awards handed out by industry insiders? We are. Motorcycle Bloggers International (an association of, you guessed it, riders who blog about motorcycling) decided it was time that the riding public have a chance to express their opinions. So we created the Riders Choice awards. This is your opportunity to nominate and vote for your choices for the best and worst in the motorcycling world for 2006.

There are various categories for events, actions by a person or group and new products. Some examples:

* A rider’s dream - The dream ride, tour or event that given enough time and money you most want to experience.

* Object of lust - The production motorcycle of any model year that is desired above all others.

* Thumbs up - The person or organization who during 2006, made the most significant contribution to motorcycling.

* Best new in 2006 every day motorcycle - The production motorcycle most suited to commuting that was first delivered to dealers in 2006.

* What were they thinking? - The new in 2006 concept or production motorcycle, related product or other idea that is the worst idea of 2006.

Head on over to www.mbiweb.org to see all the categories, view nominations already entered and submit your nominations. Join us in letting the industry know what we, the riders, think. While you are there, sign up for an email reminder notice that will be sent when voting for the awards begins in February.

Help us make this awards program a success. Nominate and vote.

Updated for Dec. 4, 2006

Evening Shadows
Here are some highlights of photos I took on Sunday, Dec. 3 on Skyline Boulevard in the Windy Hill area south of Alice's Restaurant. The days are getting short and the shadows long. Thankfully, we've had excellent weather with the highs in the low 60s and lots of sun. The rain has mostly stayed north of the Bay Area where they're getting record rain and snow falls. Next weekend looks to be gloomy but if the weather's nice on Sunday I may journey up the hill for more photos.
